N.H.Goel World School’s Early Programme Wing celebrated their Annual Day on 10th December 2016. This year’s theme being ‘’ One World, Many Stories’’. Children love stories since time immemorial and that set the basis of the theme. The stories were chosen from different parts of the globe. Each class performance represented a country and a folktale from that place, with a moral lesson being projected through the fun Races.
The dignitaries of the evening lit up the lamp and released the balloons to commence the show. The Principal of the School- Dr. M V Krishnamchari addressed the gathering with his kind words and then, the Early Program Leader, Reshalika Dawar interacted with the parents and highlighted the thought behind the Theme.
The little Pre-Primary children were dressed as characters from the particular country & folktale they were representing that beautiful winter evening. The event’s first performance was by the junior most students of the School, the Nursery babies, who represented our home country India, with the age-old Panchatantra Tales- The Hare & the Tortoise. The story was given a modern twist where Competition was replaced by ‘Collaborative Work’ and a noble thought was showcased that working together and Competing with our own selves is a more positive approach towards life.
The Senior KG A’s represented the next country- Saudi Arabia with the famous Aladdin’s Tale of Magic Lamp. The magical performance showcased the beautiful Jasmine, the wish –fulfilling Genie and the adorable Aladdin, where they extended the Arabian folktale with granting of wishes- for peace, harmony, love, brotherhood and to heal the World & make it a better place.
The little Junior Kg’s came in next, to represent the snowy world of Antarctica and as little penguins did the famous Penguin Walk. Their performance brought out the most important relation in a child’s life- the love and bond with the parents. Their story had a Mamma penguin helping out the baby penguin, cross hurdles, catch fish for food and in this way; they showed how parents take care of their little ones & fulfill the necessities of life.
The country of South Africa was represented by children of Junior KG C and shared the famous Anansi- the Spider Tales. The story was about a Spider who was given a golden pot by God, to fill it with all the Wisdom of the world but the pot breaks and so, Wisdom gets scattered everywhere. The story displayed the fact that all Wisdom cannot be with any one person, thus, each one of us, has some wisdom.
The Oceans & the seas in between our continents were represented by the Senior KG B’s in the form of a story from the Underwater World. They had children dressed as Jelly fish, Gold fish, Mermaids and Sharks. Their story brought about the importance of Friendship in our lives.
The American continent’s famous celebration of Halloween was shown on the Tracks, by the Junior KG A’s where children were in Halloween costumes- the Witches with broomstick, the black Cats, the scary Mummies and pumpkins as props. The spooky moves showcased the celebration which is done to ward off the roaming ghosts.
The last place which was represented by Senior Kg C’s was the Island of Gods- Bali from Indonesia. Children danced on the soulful Balinese music and their race brought out the Story of a Balinese folktale character- Gecko- with the moral that each one of us, in this world- are Inter-Connected!
The parents were also brought down on the Tracks from the pavilion, to be a part of the fun dance relay race, which they all participated with full energy & excitement. The event came to an end with the Vote of Thanks by the Director of the School- Mrs. Kalpana Chaudhary.
